Generalized Anxiety Disorder

Individuals with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) suffer from persistent and diffuse anxiety, worry, and physical tension. The anxiety often relates to everyday and financial events and problems, but particularly to the worry that oneself or loved ones might become seriously ill or have an accident. The worries are felt as barely controllable and highly distressing. In addition to panic symptoms, symptoms such as restlessness, gastrointestinal problems, concentration issues, irritability, sleep disorders, and cardiovascular problems may also occur.
