Mindable: Panic & Agoraphobia

Contraindications

Mindable: Panic & Agoraphobia should not be used in the presence of any of the following conditions or impairments:
  • Schizophrenia, schizotypal, and delusional disorders (F20-24, F28, F29)
  • Bipolar affective disorder (F31)
  • Severe depressive episode with psychotic symptoms (F32.3)
  • Recurrent depressive disorder, currently severe episode with psychotic symptoms (F33.3)
  • Severe cognitive impairments
  • Suicidality and suicide attempts
Explanation:
Suicidality refers to a genuine intent to take one’s own life at any point within the previous 90 days (regardless of whether a specific plan was formed).

Exposure exercises must not be carried out in cases of acute substance use, such as alcohol, opioids, cannabinoids, sedatives or hypnotics, cocaine, hallucinogens, tobacco, and volatile solvents (F10.0-F14.0, F16.0-F18.0).

Additional Exclusion Criteria at the Discretion of the Provider

Patients suffering from the following conditions or impairments should seek consultations from their physician or licensed therapist and potentially refrain from carrying our certain exposure exercises:
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Respiratory diseases
  • Photosensitive epilepsy (G40)
  • Pregnancy
